In honor of the delicious Portero-curated designer accessories event happening on MYHABIT, well, now, we asked Portero head buyer (and bonafide vintage and luxury expert) to give us a sneak peek at a few of the most prized possessions in her own closet.
1) Vintage Gold Rolex from 1971
This watch is basically a piece of my arm at this stage. It is a chic classic piece that you can wear every day and into evening. It is a men’s size (I am 5’11 and love men’s watches), and has an traditional rich brown alligator strap. I do, of course, love vintage watches the most, they have so much character!
2) Celine Phantom Tote
I always like to have one of these on hand since they are great day bags for NYC life. My favorite one, from this past season, actually, is in a rich brown suede, which is not an easy one to come by. I can fit my laptop in it, extra ballet flats, Chapstick (my essential), Cliff (my teddy bear iPhone cover & friend), the works.
3) Hermès Vintage Black Croc Kelly
This is a must-have bag for any serious bag collector. It is a classic from Hermès, with the extra icing on the cake being it is an exotic skin. You don’t see many of these around in great vintage condition – and, if you can find one, the price is always so much better than a new one. It would be like winning the lottery to find a new one on the shelf in an Hermes boutique. I just love older bags, I think they are so romantic.
