In case you haven’t heard, a little film called The Great Gatsby opens today. As longtime fans of the Fitzgerald book, Baz Luhrmann and Leonardo Dicaprio, it’s safe to say we are thrilled to see this movie. The glitz, the glamour, the grandeur: We want to live it all. And we will (or will try to, anyway) with the help of a few select pieces, including, but not limited to: A rare print from Art Gout Beaute, a ladies’ magazine that was all the rage back in the roaring twenties. A tiered little cocktail dress for our already fashion-obsessed niece. And a gorgeous Art Deco necklace that will make any of the old cocktail dresses in our closets worthy of a Gatsby-style bash.

Although I'm a dedicated fan of warmer weather, I often have a difficult time dressing for actual Summer - those sticky, sweaty, humid kind of days. That's when I inevitably throw my hands up in defeat, put on as few clothing items as possible and simultaneously thank my lucky stars that I found an apartment with central air. But Springtime, you are perfect - and since you got such a late start, I would love for you to stick around a little longer and creep into our Summer days. I'm currently enjoying the thick of it, the cool but not cold temperatures, punctuated with sunny skies and blooming trees. It's the perfect time for lightweight layers, crisp white separates, and florals galore. As it gets warmer and warmer, I might swap the pants for tailored shorts with the blazer, pair the peplum top with a flirty skirt, or the pants with a nautical, striped t-shirt. But for now, I'll keep my layers.

With Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner, we’re so excited to share this fun and delicious recipe for elote fritters. Are you all familiar with the popular roasted Mexican street corn on a stick? It’s slathered in mayo, seasoning, crumbled queso fresco or cotija with a fresh squeeze of lime juice. Basically it’s corn on the cob on steroids and it’s totally amazing. Today we’ve turned one of our favorite spring/summertime snacks into fun little fritters with a cooling cilantro cream sauce. We used our favorite store-bought Mexican seasoning, Tajin, which you can find in some local and specialty markets, but feel free to use your favorite seasoning blend, whether store-bought or homemade!
