Jewelry designer Dana Lorenz is an aficionado of all things chic and glamorous, and such shows in the statement pieces she designs for her esteemed jewelry lines FENTON and FALLON. The Illinois-native shot to fame—and her jewelry, cult status—when Vogue featured her first collection in 2005, and has been on the rise since. She’s collected not one but two nods from the CFDA for her designing prowess, and she continues to see her jewels march down the runways of some of today’s biggest names in ready-to-wear. Here, the habits that got her where she is today.
What’s the one habit you have that changed your life for the better?
I moved uptown, and realized that it IS better to sleep on really fine bed linens. I also always have fresh floral arrangements in the house, and they are such a pleasing addition to my day.
What’s the one habit you have that’s not so great?
I’ve created what I think is a gorgeous apartment, and I never want to leave it! I tend to get trapped there, in front of my favorite TV shows.
What’s your naughtiest habit?
Sometimes I have a couple too many Grey Goose and sodas.
What’s your secret (or not-so) style habit?
A white shirt, pearls and a great pair of shoes go a long way.
What’s a habit you wish you had?
I wish I had more time to volunteer.

Be honest with yourself and others.
